Marble is a feral pigeon that lives in my neighborhood. She is a pied blue check pigeon with bronze bars. I first met her on 1st May, 2025 in front of my apartment complex, I named her Marble because she reminded me of various colors of marble tiles. I fed her, and ever since, she began routinely showing up around my house, demanding food as feral pigeons do (because they are feral, not wild!) and she led the other ferals to me as well. Thus began my friendship with Marble and the flock. Due to her unique coloring and patterns, she is instantly recognizable even from a distance. I suppose I am also recognizable from a distance, because she flies up to me as soon as she spots me, even from far away (fun fact: pigeons can recognize and remember individuals very well). In late 2025, I got a tattoo of Marble and Muffins (another pigeon that was very loyal and sadly isn't here anymore, RIP) for my birthday. While I was out of town during the holidays in December, Marble was looking for me, and somehow figured out which exact apartment unit I live in. She must've seen me in the window, I assume. She always waits for me outside every morning, usually together with her mate, a blue t-check(?) with bronze bars named Maple.
